An informal evening to connect, network, and unwind

Following a successful tradition of bringing together the next generation of vision researchers, the ISER 2026 Early Career Researchers Evening offers a relaxed and welcoming opportunity to meet fellow ECRs from around the world outside the scientific programme.

 

ECRs showing their ISER badge will benefit from exclusive beverage and cocktail discounts, with selected drinks available at a special rate of €8 per cocktail or mixed drink.

Join us for an enjoyable evening of conversation, networking, and new connections as we celebrate the global Early Career Researcher community at ISER 2026.

WISER (Women of the International Society for Eye Research) proudly continues the tradition established in 2014 of bringing together researchers from across the globe in a warm and informal setting early in the meeting schedule, creating meaningful opportunities for networking, mentoring, and exchange.

 

Join senior scientists, clinicians, and Early Career Researchers from all continents for an evening of inspiring conversations, shared experiences, and valuable connections within the ISER community. WISER continues to foster an inclusive environment where established and emerging researchers can exchange ideas, career advice, and perspectives from different stages of academic and professional life.

Enjoy an atmosphere-driven dining experience featuring authentic Valencian cuisine in the elegant and welcoming surroundings of Racó de L’Arnau. Known for its exceptional rice dishes, fresh seafood, and Mediterranean hospitality, the restaurant offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening among colleagues and friends.

Join colleagues and friends from around the world for the ISER 2026 Gala Dinner at the magnificent Cartuja de Ara Christi, a beautifully restored former Carthusian monastery located just outside Valencia. Surrounded by elegant cloisters, gardens, and centuries of history, this exclusive venue provides the perfect setting to celebrate the international eye research community in a truly unforgettable atmosphere.


Taking place on Thursday, 27 August, the Gala Dinner offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow researchers, clinicians, industry representatives, and friends of ISER in a relaxed and inspiring environment. Whether reconnecting with long-standing colleagues or meeting new collaborators, the evening promises exceptional networking, conversation, and celebration.

Guests will enjoy a carefully curated dining experience featuring high-quality Mediterranean cuisine, complemented by local wines and beverages. Depending on weather conditions, dinner will be held in the stunning outdoor cloister courtyard or in one of the venue’s elegant indoor spaces, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
